Exclusive titles never sell as well as third party titles; it’s a fact of gaming. There just aren’t enough people with the correct console to buy it, but Titanfall isn’t an exclusive. Being distributed on both Microsoft Xbox consoles and PC means a far greater number of players will get to taste its uniqueness. Even if you don’t own an Xbox One, chances are you have an Xbox 360 or even a PC that may just run it. Not being available on Sony consoles is a massive mistake; there is no denying that the PS4 is currently winning the next-gen war. But Microsoft will use this to turn things around, selling an Xbox One with Titanfall for slightly more as a PS4 without a £50 game is a bold move and will win people over. If somebody wishes to play Titanfall that badly, they will find a way.
It would not surprise me if this title shifts the most copies than any other this year. This game had a massive following even before its announcement, it may not break day one sales, but over the course of the year as people get their Xbox Ones or better PCs this game will be number one on everyone’s list. And the only reasons they’ll be doing it, is to play Titanfall.
