It’s easy to point the fingers at Danger Close, DiCE made the online for the 2010 game and it’s was respectable. EA let Danger Close have full rein with Warfighter and seriously messed up the online part of the game. Hang on, this is the same company that closely monitors every developer they own and go thou everything with a tight nit comb right. EA have stopped games half made before that where better than this without a second thought. And seeing as Danger Close we’re being trusted with a peak release title spot and up against the massive Black Ops2. I would have expected EA to have said, “hang on, after beating MW3, last year, we need to keep this momentum going, DiCE we NEED your help” . No, they let Danger Close go off on their own and create what was possibly their last big game. Now Danger Close will be remembered for is Warfighter being a flop and not the great work they did with BOTH single player campaigns.
My argument? I don’t know really, I just think it’s unfair that Danger Close get beaten up when it wasn’t their entire fault. We all know what EA are like. I will miss the NEW style Medal of Honour, it had a more personal feel over the mass produced Call of Duty. EA have now said they will concentrate on the Battlefield series for now. But they must have something in the pipeline for next year’s battle with Activision. Maybe Bad Company 3 and Modern Warfare 4 will be the last time EA and Activision slug it out and realise they can just be friends and get on with making decent games we all enjoy and not the reproduced stuff their sending us every year.!
