With Second Son based in the city where the studio is based. Rainy Seattle has never looked so good. This may be the first game to test the early capabilities of the new PS4. With huge amounts of water, rain will steak down buildings. But when drying it will start at the top and work its way down. Puddles will appear and rain changes the whole atmosphere of the game. The sun will glare off fresh rained on surfaces in the morning and the fog will roll in from the bay. The devs are expecting plenty of pictures of their virtual world when the game hits shelves on 21st march.
The second video shows how our new protagonist can change his powers on the fly. All videos have shown Delsin Rowe with his smoke abilities. Now we get a glimpse of his Neon powers and how easy it is to change between the two. By simply walking to a bright neon lighted area, press a button and its all yours. There are some generic powers that are similar across the board. But it's the unique ones that make the difference. His neon powers show Deslin running super fast up walls and mid air. It's a more precision based ability with strengths as well as weaknesses. To change back, find a smoking chimney and your back to sucking yourself though drain pipes. It is an interesting, but common sense way to change between his various powers.
We also get a quick glimpse of how we'll be using the DS4 touch pad with Second Son, with taking out a load of enemies Deslin lifts a core from a trailer by you swiping up, and by hitting the pad, Deslin punches it. Scuttle movements, trying to make you feel the movement on screen. But I'm my view still not worth the extra investment in the pad on the new controller.
Expectations are high, Sucker Punch has gone from a nobody to triple A material with only two titles. But each one of these have been nothing short of exceptional in their own ways.
