With the teaser trailer it eased into the storyline of our hero's transporting a villain to a space prison, while she taunts Ratchet saying that he isn't the hero everyone believes, that her brother will still find her and hurt everyone who stands in his way. The station is soon destroyed by villains believed to be said brother, you know its not going to go to plan as per usual. The gameplay shown gives true indication the game has returned to its best, crazy weapons, beautiful landscapes and villains side-kicks who are unsure which way to hold a gun. A big thing added this time is the Zero Gravity, several scenes see Ratchet floating thou space, using his mag boots to latch onto debris.
Gadgets and weapons have defined Ratchet and Into the Nexus looks to expand his armoury. With turning enemies into Snowmen and Scary Jack in the Boxes, its hitting all the right notes to be a classic. Expect Space Witches, Capt Qwark, Skill Points, Clank only levels and those lovely GOLD bolts.
No indication if a PS4 version will be available as well, as Tools Of Destruction was realised very early on in the PS3 lifecycle. Another unknown is a port to the Vita, Q-Force struggled its way to Sony's handheld and struggled even more with performance. Insomniac don't wish to rule anything out, but what ever they decide it MUST match the quality the fans have come to expect from the franchise. Already In to Nexus has caused ripples across the internet, Why wasn't it shown at E3? And rumours of a Cross-over with Jak n Daxter may have sounded cool, have been laid to rest.
Ratchet and Clank have stood the test of time and have a massive cult following, there adventures are not easily matched and although they may have had a bumpy few years with mixed results with their previous games, Into the Nexus, looks to silence all the criticism thrown at them. The Francize is still going strong, why else would we be getting a feature film in few years.!
The futures Lombax!
